The North York Hockey League’s finest was honored at the 2024 Officiating Awards along with the Greater Toronto Hockey League and the Mississauga Hockey League. This was the 19th annual celebration recognizing officiating excellence amongst the leagues.

The NYHL awards three officials each year. This years recipients can be found below:

The Jim Hickey Memorial Award – The Most Deserving Official

Each year the NYHL honours one on-ice official who exemplifies a great attitude, work ethic and overall desire to help the NYHL in any capacity they can. 

Recipient: Ed Flanigan

Dean Warren Award – The Most Promising Official

Awarded to the NYHL official who has shown a great deal of expertise and potential. 

Recipient: Stephen Dinella

Murray Evans – The Most Improved Official

Awarded to the NYHL  official who has shown the most improvement as an official over the year. 

Recipient: Stephen Lafleur
