Julian Herzberg Awarded Queen’s Jubilee

Last week, President of the Thornhill Community Hockey League, Julian Herzberg, was awarded the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pin for his outstanding commitment and contribution to the Thornhill community.

The congratulatory letter reads:

“I am writing to advise that you have been selected to receive the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Pin for your tireless service to our community and country. Congratulations!

This Year Canada and its Commonwealth family members are celebrating the 70th anniversary of the Queen’s ascension to the throne. In recognition of this auspicious event, select residents of Thornhill with a long record of public service have been chosen to receive the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Award. Your selection is reflective of the valuable contribution you have made in enriching the lives of your fellow citizens. Thank you for serving the Thornhill community with pride and excellence.

I am honoured to be able to send you this pin on behalf of Canada’s Parliament. Once again, thank you for all you have done to improve the lives of your neighbours and make Thornhill a better place.”

In 2019, Mr. Herzberg was recognized for his significant contribution to the Thornhill Community Hockey League from the City of Markham.

Julian has been volunteering with the Thornhill Community Hockey League for over 30 years and has been President since 2005.

Congratulations on such an outstanding achievement and we are lucky to have such dedicated individuals in our league!
