NYHL x Marlies Jamboree

The North York Hockey League made it’s big league debut this past Saturday. In association with MLSE and the Toronto Marlies, 8 teams were invited to participate in a weekend Jamboree on professional ice at the Coca Cola Coliseum.

East York, Duffield Black, Vaughan Red and Vaughan Blue represented the U7 division and kicked off the event Saturday afternoon. They were followed by the U8 representatives of East York, Vaughan JCC, Warren Park and West Hill.

Each team got to play two games with the ice split at center ice for 30 minutes running time.  Competing teams shared the benches and coaches were on the ice as our big league officials. Parents and family filled the stands to watch their little stars on the big ice.

After the Jamboree, each team was invited to watch the Toronto Marlies vs. Hershey Bears game at 4 PM. It was a close fought game but the Marlies were bested by the Bears and lost 3-2 in overtime.

Thank you to the Toronto Marlies and MLSE for organizing this event and all of our players, coaches and families who participated. We can’t wait to do more events like this in the future!
