04 Apr NYHL Announces U8 Elite Division for 25/26 Season
TORONTO, ONT. – The North York Hockey League (NYHL) is excited to announce the addition of a U8 Elite Division (2018 YOB) for the ‘25/26 season, which will consist of a minimum of six (6) Tier 1 Select teams with player representation from across the Greater Toronto Area.
Consistent with the goals of the previously announced U9 Elite Division, this division will focus on providing participants, coaches, and parents with an experience built upon the three key principles of competitive community hockey, affordable access and a robust season structure.
Initial participating teams will include Duffield; George Bell; Faustina; Humber Valley; Ted Reeve; and the Vaughan Rangers, with the potential to add additional teams that are aligned with the guiding principles of the division.
We would also like to welcome Duffield as a new entry to the U9 Elite division.
The NYHL will be hosting a Jamboree in September for teams that are interested in joining the Elite divisions for evaluation. Specific dates will be announced at a later time.
“We are very excited to expand the Elite division concept and welcome the top U8 select programs from across the city,” said Mario Aguiar, the Chief Operating Officer of the NYHL. “The interest from teams following our original announcement has been overwhelming, and we look forward to growing this program further in the coming months.”
