11 Sep All You Need to Know before the Season Starts
The upcoming hockey season is right around the corner and we want to make sure that all of our hockey families are prepared for the fun ahead!
Important Upcoming Dates
You can find a comprehensive list of Key Dates for the NYHL season on our Coaches Portal as well as on our Calendar. Here are a few upcoming dates to be aware of before the season begins:
The Fall Season begins on Monday, October 6. The first week of the schedule will be released on Wednesday, September 24.
Fall Season Tiering Submission deadline is Wednesday, September 17. Fall Tiering Forms can be found and submitted through our Coaches Portal.
Coaches and Managers Meetings
The NYHL hosts two meetings across the city. The meeting is intended to properly inform Head Coaches regarding league rules and Managers for electronic game sheet purposes. It is MANDATORY that there is representation by either the Head Coach OR Manager at either meeting. If a coach or manager cannot make one date, they are more than welcome to attend the other.
Meeting #1 – Tuesday, September 30 – 7:00 PM – McGregor Park Community Centre
Meeting #2 – Thursday, October 2 – 7:00 PM – Westwood Arena
The Coaches Portal
The Coaches Portal is your team’s one stop shop for everything you’ll need to stay informed and manage your NYHL team. On the portal you can learn more about NYHL rules, policies and procedures in the Rules and Resources tab and also where you will submit important forms such as Tiering Forms and Exhibition/Tournament Game Sheet submissions.
Accessing the Electronic Game Sheets (EGS) and Game Day Lineups
The NYHL has moved away from paper game sheets to an electronic game sheet system via Agilex SportTrek. It is the Team Official’s responsibility to accurately set their lineup prior to each game. Team Officials will receive login credentials to access the system as soon as the league receives their approved Hockey Canada Rosters.
AGILEX has updated their User Interface and made new changes to the system. Please read the updated Electronic Game Sheet (EGS) Manual to help get started.
Select Club Contact
Every member club in the North York Hockey League has a Select Delegate or Club Contact who is your association’s expert on all things regarding NYHL hockey. They will be your go-to rep for any questions, requests or inquiries. If your Club Contact finds it necessary, they will contact the NYHL office with your needs and concerns which will be addressed appropriately.
Parents and coaches should not be contacting the NYHL office directly, and instead, must go through their Club Contact.
