Following the OHF Pilot Project, which was introduced this season, the U9’s were granted an earlier transition to full-ice play. Teams will enter the final stage of the pilot project and transition to regular playing rules with use of special teams (Powerplay/Penalty Kill) starting on Sunday, January 11th.

• October – 4 on 4, modified ice, no special teams
• Nov 1 – Jan 10 – 5 on 5, full-ice, no special teams
• After Jan 10 – Full-ice, regular rules

The NYHL is happy with the growth and development that full-ice hockey has brought to our participating U9 teams and looks forward to the continued impact in the remaining schedule.
