21 Feb Second Annual NYHL x Marlies Jamboree
The second annual NYHL x Marlies Jamboree took place last Saturday, February 17th. In association with MLSE and the Toronto Marlies, 8 teams were invited to participate in a weekend Jamboree on professional ice at the Coca Cola Coliseum.
Duffield White, Vaughan Red, Victoria Village and West Hill were the representatives for the U7 division and kicked off the event Saturday afternoon. They were followed by the U8 representatives of Duffield White, Etobicoke, Vaughan Blue and Vaughan White.
Each team got to play two games with the ice split at center ice for 30 minutes running time. Competing teams shared the benches and coaches were on the ice as our big league officials. Parents and family filled the stands to watch their little stars on the big ice.
Duke the Dog, the Marlies mascot, even made an appearance to cheer on the players and even stepped up to coach!
After the Jamboree, each team was invited to watch the Toronto Marlies play against the Belleville Senators at 4 PM. In similar fashion to last years Jamboree, the Marlies found themselves headed into overtime tied 2-2. But unlike last year, Alex Steeves would score in overtime for his second of the game and leading the Marlies to victory!
Thank you to the Toronto Marlies and MLSE for organizing this event and all of our players, coaches and families who participated. We look forward to continuing this annual tradition in years to come!

U7 Victoria Village, Vaughan Red, West Hill and Duffield White group shot after their Jamboree. And who could forget Duke!
