14 Apr Challenge of Champions 2025 – All You Need to Know
The NYHL’s annual Challenge of Champions weekend will take place on Saturday, April 26th and Sunday, April 27th at Downsview Arena.
Championship teams will be put to one final challenge against an All-Star team of their tier.
The All-Star players will receive a commemorative All-Star T-Shirt and the Champions will receive their hard-earned championship trophies during an awards ceremony at the end of each game.
If a team wins their tier Championship, players of the championship team invited as All-Stars will be removed from the All-Star lineup and will join their Championship team for the game.
All-Star teams will be coached by the Finalist coaching staff of their tier.
Every player also receives a team picture taken and printed on site prior to their game by Distinctive Foto Imaging and a complimentary hot dog from our BBQ vendor, Grandpa Ken’s Back Bacon and Burgers, after the game.
It is a lively and engaging event for all attendants with music, vendors such as Mr. Sports – Promotional Clothing and Memorabilia, action shot photography by Digital Dave Photography and, of course, exciting hockey.

The Challenge of Champions Weekend has been a North York Hockey League staple for nearly 40 years and wouldn’t be what it is without the dedication of dozens of volunteers who love the game and are committed to giving back to their community.
The 2024 Challenge of Champions saw the All Stars win the weekend with a 14-8-6 record against the Championship teams. The All Stars have won the last three Challenge of Champions weekends.
Who will be the big weekend winners? That’s easy, anyone who comes to the rink!
