The NYHL will be hosting it’s second annual Hockey Equipment Drive in support of Indigenous youth access to Canada’s greatest game. In collaboration with Their Opportunity, last year’s drive received donations of over 130 bags of hockey equipment and 140 hockey sticks over the two days. Their Opportunity drives have grown larger each year to the point where today, 1,000 bags of equipment are donated each Fall to Indigenous communities across Ontario.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

WHEN: SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 8

WHERE: DOWNSVIEW ARENA

TIME: 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM

NEW OR USED EQUIPMENT WE NEED:

• Helmets
• Shoulder Pads
• Elbow Pads
• Gloves
• Pants
• Shin Pads
• Skates
• Hockey Sticks

Items that will NOT be accepted include: jerseys, socks, neck guards, undergarments or goalie gear.

Any donations from NYHL teams will automatically enter them into the upcoming Marlies Team of the Month giveaway for November. You can win a team trip to a Toronto Marlies game of your choice.

We hope to make this equipment drive as successful as the last and continue the legacy we started when the NYHL hosted the first equipment drive for Indigenous youth back in 1961!
