The ice just opened up for all of our participating U9 teams!

As of November 1st, all teams in the U9 age group will be transitioning to 5 on 5, full-ice play with no special teams (powerplay/penalty kill).

Following the OHF Pilot Project, which was introduced this season, the U9’s have been granted an earlier transition to full-ice play. See below for important dates regarding the Pilot Project.

• October – 4 on 4, modified ice, no special teams
• Nov 1 – Jan 10 – 5 on 5, full-ice, no special teams
• After Jan 10 – Full-ice, regular rules

The NYHL is excited to observe the growth and development that full-ice hockey will bring to all of our participating teams in this age group.
